An impressive tree, naturally found near streambanks. Grows rapidly to 75-100' tall and can easily survive for multiple centuries. Striking white and gray mottled bark is highly aesthetic in all seasons. An excellent specimen is growing in Shelburne on Falls Road. Ours are grown from seed sourced in the New Haven River watershed. Adaptable species with preference for moist soils and full sun.
